We should use plastic packaging because:
- plastic helps store food hygienically, allowing food to remain fresh and so it avoids food waste
- plastic can be reused and recycled
- alternatives to plastic packaging are not very effective.
We should not use plastic packaging because:
- plastic is harmful to wildlife
- most plastic is made from non-renewable sources
- plastic packaging contain harmful chemicals
- plastic remains with us for a long time (plastic bags are not truly degradable and their small fragments pollute the environment)
