Soluzione

In the story "The Murders in the Rue Morgue" by Edgar Allan Poe, the murderer is not a human but an orangutan. The murders occurred when the orangutan, in a state of panic after accidentally finding itself in Madame L'Espanaye's house, attacked and killed Madame L'Espanaye and her daughter. The orangutan's owner, a sailor, had brought the animal back from Asia, where it had observed and imitated human behaviors, including the use of a razor. Fearing punishment after being discovered with the razor in its possession, the orangutan fled and ended up in Madame L'Espanaye's house, where the tragic events unfolded. The murders were not premeditated but rather a result of the orangutan's panicked and violent actions.
