In affirmative sentences: - for large quantities we use 'a lot of' with both uncountable and plural countable nouns; - for small quantities we use 'a few' with plural countable nouns and 'a little' with uncountable nouns.
In negative sentences, we use 'not much' with uncountable nouns and 'not many' with plural countable nouns.
